一円でも安ければそちらを買う、というのは、私の定義によれば「未成熟な消費者」ということになる。
「成熟した消費者」とは、パーソナルな、あるいはローカルな基準にもとづいて商品を選好するので、消費動向の予測が立たない消費者のことである。
同じクオリティの商品であっても、「国民経済的観点」から「雇用拡大に資する」とか「業界を下支えできる」と思えば、割高でも国産品を買う。あるいは貿易収支上のバランスを考えて割高でも外国製品を買う。そういう複雑な消費行動をとるのが「成熟した消費者」である。
「成熟した消費者」とは、その消費行動によって、ある国の産業構造が崩れたり、通貨の信用が下落したり高騰したり、株価が乱高下したり「しないように」ふるまうもののことである。
